Marianna Apartment
Interior Designer, Lviv, Ukraine, 2021
A 45 m² apartment designed for a single woman, created under significant spatial and budget constraints. The existing walls and surface finishes had already been completed, and the client wanted to retain them. The challenge was to achieve maximum functionality and visual harmony through carefully designed furniture and spatial organisation — without altering the structure or finishes.
The apartment was divided into two zones: a kitchen area and a combined living–sleeping space, separated by a partition of semi-transparent corrugated glass that allows light to pass through while providing privacy. The bed zone includes built-in storage and can be enclosed with curtains to create a darker, more intimate atmosphere.
All built-in furniture was custom-designed and fabricated according to my technical drawings, while loose furniture was carefully selected to complement the space. The result is a compact yet highly functional interior — light, calm, and comfortable — demonstrating how thoughtful furniture design can transform small urban living within tight limitations.
